Dog Mini Album

Hi everyone,

Today's post is a special one as I'm sharing a mini album that I made for my dog Brandon who crossed the Rainbow Bridge not too long ago.

Even though it's been heartbreaking loosing him, I found comfort on putting together these memories that I have of him.

I also put together a flip-through video so that you can see the inside pages.

Thanks for watching and enjoy the video!

Catching Up on 2015

Here's a little catch up on January and February 2015...

These fellows always make us smile... Rocky the fish, Brandy and London playing around, and La Diva Cupcake being herself!

The last photos of my car. We had to sell it before the move. I'm already missing it! :(

The year also began with having to say "goodbye" to old friends, places, and family...

And the last class that I offered in Puerto Rico. It was overwhelming to see that many of my fans and friends showed up to support my talent. Definitely one of the best memories I'll ever have!

I wish you an amazing week! ~xoxo~

Pocket Scrapbooking: New Beginnings

Hey guys,

Here are a couple of pages that I worked on recently...

Ever since our move to the US, I was looking forward to document all of our happenings... at least in a monthly basis... on the most important events of our lives.

And since I always seem to be busy running errands and doing many things here and there, I decided to keep it as simple as possible. I chose a couple of digital templates to work with, and with the little help of Photoshop too I was back in the game ;)

The templates that I chose are by Paislee Press. If you haven't seen them yet, I highly recommend that you check them out! They are so simple, yet so elegant and fun too!

Of course, I'm a *traditional* scrapbooker at heart, so no matter what I did, it had to involve *cutting and pasting* of papers and little bits of embellishing too! Hybrid scrapbooking allowed me to do all that!

And it feels so good to be scrapbooking back again! Specially having the good feeling that I'm doing something for my family and that they are enjoying it too (they love to see how my pages turn out once I'm done with them!).

And yes, I'm doing my journaling in *Spanglish*... why not? LOL!

Yes, the goofball of my son loves Spiderman! LOL!

Well that is all for now. Thank you so much for stopping by! And I'll see you next time ~xoxo

Project Life: La Diva Cupcake

Well I have more Project Life pages to share...

These are about my lovely cat Cupcake...

She is a total *diva*... there are no other words to describe her! LOL!

This page is an 8 1/2" x 11" page, which I fit into a 12" x 12" album. I created the layout digitally using a template by Cathy Zielske, only that I changed the title to suit my style ;-)

I also added scraps of paper to decorate.

Now the next pages are 12" x 12" (duhh! LOL!)...

And I created a *shaker pocket* to make the layout more interesting...

To fill the pocket I used a sheet of pre-printed plastic that I found at Michaels and I cut it to fit the pocket (6" x 4"). I also added foil stars, heart shapes and a cat stamp by Rubbernecker, which I colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brushes. Then I stitched around it with my sewing machine to close it.

This was really fun to make and yes, I'm already working on some more pages. I hope to share them with you soon!

Thanks for stopping by!! ~xoxo~

Getting Started with Project Life

It's been ages since I last did a scrapbook page.

Not because of lack of time...

Neither because I grew to hate it...

But the truth is that I reached this point were I wanted my pages to be *perfect* in every sense of the way.

The pictures, the papers, the layout, the embellishments... it all had to be *magazine* worthy!

And I simply burned out!

Project Life has been in the market for some time now and I have to be honest... it never got my interest.

Until recently, where everyone was talking about Project Life and *pocket pages* or *pocket scrapbooking*. And since I have zillion pictures sitting on my computer's hard drive (ok not that many pictures, but you get the idea... LOL!), I said "Why not?" and decided to give it a try.

So without much further a do, here are my first pages:

The main subject is my son Sebastián. He has such a good disposition when it comes to pictures... and I know that many boys don't like to have their pictures taken, so I have to take advantage of this opportunity ;-)

The cards that I used for these pages are "Cinnamon Edition" by Project Life, and in case that you didn't notice it, I'm going *hybrid*... meaning that I'm making my layouts, wording, etc. in the computer (Photoshop CC), then I print it all with my color printer, and finally I cut everything out to fit the pocket protectors.

My experience: It's been such a breeze!! LOL! And I'm growing to love it. I'm not saying that I won't be back to traditional scrapbooking, but for now I'll be sticking to this :-)

Thanks for dropping by! ~xoxo~

Little Artist

Hey everyone!!

It is time for another Saturated Canary *inspirational post*.

And today I'm showcasing the lovely Little Artist stamp by Saturated Canary. She is the main decoration of my newest *art journal* ;)

My art journal measures 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", so I resized the stamp to fit the cover of it. I printed her in mixed media paper (Strathmore), and then colored her with Prismacolor Pencils using the layering and burnishing techniques. I also used graphite pencils, gel pens, and chalk to highlight and decorate.

About the journal, I followed this tutorial that I did a while ago, in case that you want to make your own ;)

Well that's all for now! Thanks for stopping by!

Smash*ing Thursday: Freebie!

Hi there lovelies,

Guess what? I have a freebie to share with you!!

I've been playing a lot with Photoshop and it occurred to me to create a couple of cards/tags for my Smashing addiction. They're 3" x 4" and are also perfect for all those Project Life addicts out there! ;-)

And then I thought "why not share these with my online friends since they're my biggest supporters" right? ;-)

So as a New Year's gift, I'm giving each one of you a chance to download these cards for free!

But before I give you the link, please note... I would love to create new ones and share them with you, but only if I get a good response. Your continued support and feedback is very important to me in order to keep me motivated to continue creating. So before downloading, please: 1) make sure to become a follower of this blog if you're not one already. The link is to the left of this blog --> and, 2) drop me a line under this post or to my email saying how much you liked them, or how much you did not like them (hope never to see this one...LOL!), or what would you like to see in my future cards... anything!! Like I said, your feedback is very important to me!! ;-)

OK now here's the link.

I hope that you enjoy and Happy Smash*ing!!

December Daily & Merry Christmas

So many ladies of the SMASH groups I'm in are jumping in the wagon and doing this December Daily thing...

(click for December Daily by Ali Edwards)

And I said that I wasn't going to make one this year, since last year I started one with my friend Kellie and I totally failed!

I also said that I wasn't going to buy any of these, since they're not my style...

Bahahahaha... yes, you guessed it! I got myself one...LOL!! And yes, I'm also doing the December Daily ;-)

Here's the first part of it:

(warning: pic heavy!)

These tiny pics are 3" x 3", which I took with my iPhone and an app called "Hipstamatic" (it's pretty cool if you love vintage/lomo photography!).

I'm doing a total hybrid out of this album and I'm truly enjoying it! I'm using overlays in my pics (which I added with Photoshop Elements), half of the tags that I'm using were created and printed from my computer using Word and Photoshop Elements, and I'm also doing some mixed media in it too (adding paints, trims and ribbons, metal, etc.) ;-)

As you can see, I'm adding pics and memories from past Christmas. And I'm doing my album in Spanglish (Spanish and English) too! ;-)

Even though the main idea is to document all 25 days of December, I'm not going to do that! Not only I don't have something important/nice to document each day, but also I don't have the time to do it daily. So I will be documenting the important stuff in this journal only.

And why not? I'm also including stories from my office, like the one above... it was a prank a Secret Santa made to our supervisor...LOL!

I'm still working on the 2nd part of this mini album, so stick around ok? ;-)

Now last but not least, I want to wish you all...

 MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
